Girl’s got a plan

04/04/2016 by Holly

David let the bitties watch some tv in his office the other day. {He works from home.} Considering it was day seven of spring break, and that we had begun spring break with a stomach bug and appeared to be ending it with croup {thankfully, it wasn’t…} I said YES PLEASE to his suggestion. I may have offered to pack them a lunch. And lovies. And naptime accoutrement.

Well. I don’t know what they watched out there, but bitty E came back WITH A PLAN.

She marched right back inside and started ordering me to cut the hole out of the bottom of a paper cup and cut these “stars” out of black paper and where was our flashlight and help me build this fort…

Girl was on a mission.

So after our lengthy discussion entitled How to Address Your Mother Respectfully with a side foray into You Know It’s a Nice Thing to Say Please, I decided to acquiesce to THE PLAN. {Mostly because I was feeling rested from the tv time in daddy’s office as long as your take into account that “feeling rested” over spring break means that I cleaned like a tornado while they were out from underfoot.} Let’s just leave it at: I caved because I felt better about life.

So we cut and we taped and we forted {snicker} and I successfully convinced her that we did not have to close every blind in the entire house in order to see the star projection I guessed she was aiming for…and when time came for the big reveal:

drumroll…

It bombed.

I’m guessing it worked beautifully on whatever cartoon they were watching and real life kinda stunk up THE PLAN.

There was pouting. There were tears. There was meanness toward bitty G. There was blameshifting. There may have been threats on my part. {See above: stomach bug.}

Ah, bless it sister.

If only I could identify with your personality or understand even a little bit where you’re coming from. It’s just that I’m so breezy about everything…a real “go with the flow” kinda gal. Nothing gets to me, really….

It’s not at all like I spent the better part of Saturday planning out the plant family rotations through 2018.

Unlike the construction paper stars...this one's water tight.

Unlike the construction paper stars…this one’s water tight.

Or maybe I’ve been watching too much tv too…

Oh, hi there

I'm Holly from zone 7b.
My veggies grow above ground where the rabbits help themselves, and the flowers grow in ground where the children help themselves. Sometimes I wish I was a pioneer. Then I move the clothes from the washer to the dryer and think better of it.
